The New Ulm Area Foundation was established late in 1987 by Henry N. Somsen in memory of his wife, Anne Duncan Somsen. Mr. Somsen, a retired New Ulm attorney, wished to create a permanent vehicle that would serve the ever-evolving needs of the New Ulm area. His contributions to the foundation were given in the hope that others who wish to foster enrichment of the community's quality of life would also consider gifts to the New Ulm Area Foundation.
